Finishing it up and waiting

We had to go out to the house today to tell them where to put towel bars. We couldn't believe all the work they had done since Sunday! All of the carpet was in... and it's SO SOFT! I'll admit I wasn't too thrilled with them walking on it with shoes. The deck was done - and it awesome, I can't wait to grill. If there is even a 1/2 way nice day after we move in we are busting out the grill. I was deprived of grilling the entire summer! They were finishing up the baseboard trim, installing the rest of the under cabinet lights, electrical quality check and installing mirrors! Pretty much all that is left is the last of the painting around the front door - as a result of the door having to be moved and the lawn. Joel was going to call today to find out when our lawn/landscaping/sprinkler system was coming.

I'm at work right now and I can't even begin to concentrate! Luckily I have most of next week off! I need to buy rugs, the kitchen table, find and buy a mattress for Will. I've ordered Will's bed and it's supposed to be delivered on December 2nd - that was cutting it close and 1/2 of the shades are ordered - the ones that take the longest to produce. And I have to order the other 1/2 soon. I've ordered my new dishes which is my Christmas present from my in-laws which I can't wait to get, and thank you Crate and Barrel for your impeccable timing on your 25% off dishes sale! Oh and don't forget Kate's B-day next week and of course Christmas shopping. But it's all good. In 2 weeks pretty much from right now, we'll be walking out of the closing with the keys to our new house! ......

The movers and the Uhaul are scheduled. The wait is killing me!

15 days to closing

Two weeks from tomorrow sounds closer, but either way it's coming up quickly! We've started packing up the apartment. The stacks of boxes are getting pretty high already. The kids still aren't too sure about packing toys, the last time that happend they never saw the toys again. Christmas is coming twice this year, we get to unpack all the old toys and get christmas. I may need the gift of organization!

Here are the latest pics. We went out late Saturday to see how the floors turned out. They finished the floors and then were repairing drywall which ended up everywhere, so that is what is all over the floors. I think next time I go I'm bringing the swifer.

This week Joel said they were doing the deck, finish up electrical, finish plumbing, carpet, and get the rest of the appliances in. Ahh! Then we'd just have the sod and landscaping left which makes sense as they intend to be done with the house other than cleaning on the 24th (also Bug's B-day!)

The rug (we'll get the bigger size) and a leg of the new table's bench.

Sick Bug

Pink Eye + Pink Eye + Ear Infection + Ear Infection = a trip to the Dr. and a day home with mom!

Even when she is sick, she is cute! And no it wasn't raining, she just likes boots!

T minus 27 days

27 days to closing and we couldn't be more excited! It really almost doesn't seem real that it could really possibly almost be here. After a year of looking and waiting and planning and 3 months of plans and revisions and 6 months of building and choices it hardly seems possible that is may just actually be getting close.

KITCHEN! I LOVE IT!. Still needs grout on the tile, and there is a protective sheet over the granite, but it looks great together.
